What is hypersensitivity?
知覚過敏とは、虫歯ではないのに歯が削れてしみたり痛く感じること。そのひとつの原因として、強い力を加えるブラッシングや硬い歯ブラシを使用していること、歯ブラシを大きく動かしすぎていることなどが挙げられます。
従来の電動歯ブラシも、強い振動で歯の表面を削り、さらに研磨剤入りの歯磨き粉の併用で知覚過敏や歯のトラブルの原因となっていました。
知覚過敏を放っておくと、歯がしみて歯磨きが億劫になり、結果的に虫歯や歯周病を誘発するなど悪循環に陥ります。また、最も虫歯や歯周病の原因になる歯と歯の間も、手磨きではケアしにくい部分です。
